Engineerin Geology

Ingenieurgeologie

Engineering geology belongs to the earth sciences and links classic geology with applied geology, geotechnics and civil engineering. In particular, engineering geology deals with the mechanical and physical properties of soils and rocks and their interactions, which in turn are determined by their genetic background and their historical development.

Staff qualifications and technical facilities covering a wide range of applications, enable us to supply solution strategies for a multitude of demands from within the scope of engineering geology:
  • Subsurface exploration (large and small diameter drilling, sounding)
  • Logging, sampling and classification of soil and rock
  • Soil mechanical laboratory with comprehensive soil mechanical testing facilities
  • Classification of materials for construction purposes
  • Geohydraulic testing (pumping tests, infiltration tests
  • Building site exploration, foundation consulting, calculation of settlement in soils
  • Slope stability analysis
  • Consulting services for landfill engineering
  • Traffic route consulting (road, rail, water)
  • Excavation engineering
  • Engineering of dewatering measures
  • Earthworks engineering (dams, embankments, dykes etc.)
  • Earthworks engineering (dams, embankments, dykes etc.)
  • Consulting services for the construction and repair of earth-laid utilities (sewage, water etc.)
  • Consulting services for the construction of stormwater retention facilities
